In early 2020, the Eltelierworks team were fresh graduates pending their national service enlistments, and decided to pick up additive manufacturing (3D Printing) as a new skill/hobby.
The COVID-19 pandemic also emerged, mandating the widespread donning of masks and face-shields, causing skin irritations and discomfort to those whom worn them for extended periods of time.
With 3D Printing being so versatile, we recognized that something can be done to alleviate this discomfort, and so we founded The Neighbourhood Spideys (TNS), a charity group backed by Temasek Trust (Now Temasek Foundation) and Singapore Polytechnic that saw over 20000 earsavers/ear adapters and faceshields designed, manufactured, and donated to frontliners across Singapore.
With a humble foundation rooted in charitable origins, Eltelieworks stands as a beacon of unwavering commitment, poised to ignite positive change within our community through the power of 3D printing. Our purpose remains steadfast – to deliver accessible, affordable and exceptional 3D printing services, resources, and education to every Singaporean, while fostering empowerment and elevating their creative visions to unprecedented heights.
When you choose to engage with our services or purchase our retail products, you become an integral part of our mission, propelling the advancement of 3D printing within our shared community. As a startup driven by passionate undergraduates from esteemed institutions like NUS and NTU, your support holds immeasurable value and pulls us forward on our transformative journey. In 2019, The Neighborhood Spideys (TNS) distributed over 20,000+ 3D Printed ear adapters to frontline and essential workers, inclusive of hawkers, public transport officers, staff in hospitals, schools and F&B sectors.
Following the huge public reception and support from TNS's efforts, we decided to explore other meaningful ways to make a positive impact using 3D printing in the pandemic. To brighten up the neighborhood in those trying times, we started selling affordable and vibrant 3D printed TraceTogether token casings.
After the sizable demand for our 3D printed TraceTogether Token casings, we branched into customizable 3D printing services, with the aim of making 3D Printing affordable and accessible for the neighborhood. Lithophane picture frames, action figurines, cosplay items, we do it all.
Simultaneously, during this time period, we were busy improving and polishing our craft in 3D printing through continuous efforts in research & development. This allowed us to uptake commercial 3D printing projects as a professional additive manufacturing service provider.
Even after we went commercial, we still live by our mission to make 3D printing accessible to the wider Singaporean community. For the student demographic, we sponsored 3D prints for many orientation camps and helped numerous students 3D print their architecture models and FYP Engineering projects affordably.
To forge closer relationships with the community and introduce 3D printing, we occasionally appear in the neighborhood roadshows to showcase our previous projects and educate interested residents on the wonders of 3D Printing.
We have hence far impacted many local organization clients, from the SAF, Singapore Navy, to MediaCorp. Our most common projects include trophies, moulds, prototyped display models and functional parts. In our journey in bringing accessible 3D Printing services to this vibrant community, we invite you to be next in this story.
Our logo has been carefully crafted to reflect our brand identity and the values we believe in. Besides the representation of our company initials and the 3D printing tip, we have designed it with an industrial feel to complement our professionalism and experience. Dark blue was used to highlight our reliability and steadfastness as a business partner, while yellow was used to accentuate our creative desire to innovate and design your next big masterpiece.
